Center (Watpaknam Michigan), a cornerstone of Theravada practice established in Sterling
Heights since 2009. We warmly invite you to our weekly English Dhamma Night sessions,
held every Sunday evening from 6:00 PM until approximately 8:00 PM at 8500 Plumbrook
Road. This inclusive gathering offers a wonderful opportunity for both beginners and
experienced practitioners to connect, learn, and deepen their spiritual understanding.

The Program Includes:

Instructor: Kalayan Bhikkhu
Venerable Kalayan Bhikkhu is a distinguished Buddhist teacher and meditation master whose
spiritual journey began in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh. His pursuit of both classical and
academic knowledge has paved the way for his profound expertise in the Dhamma.
His educational path reflects a dedication to scholarly excellence: he earned both
his B.A. (Honors) and M.A. degrees from the prestigious University of Chittagong.
Further solidifying his academic foundation in Buddhist studies, he successfully
completed his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from the International Buddhist Studies
College (IBSC) at Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University (MCU) in Thailand. Today,
Phra Kalayan Bhikkhu shares this wealth of knowledge, guiding students worldwide through
the practical application of Buddhist concepts and the calming, transformative
techniques of meditation. His background blends deep intellectual insight with authentic
spiritual practice.
